Part TWO

Di bagian pertama, kita sudah membagi kehidupan Yusuf dalam 5 bagian besar, dan sudah membahas 2 poin awal :

1. Masa kanak2 di Kanaan (The Childhood)

2. Masa sbg budak di rmh Potifar (In Potifar’s House)

3. Masa sbg tahanan penjara (In the Dungeon)

4. Masa menjadi penguasa Mesir (In the Palace)

5. Masa pertemuan kembali dgn keluarganya (The Reunion)

Mari melihat 3 bagian lainnya dari kehidupan Yusuf dan belajar darinya.

IN THE DUNGEON

Keyword : Immanuel, faithful no matter where-when-what

Saat membayangkan kata “dungeon”, terbayang salah satu adegan dlm film “The Count of Monte Cristo” (2002). Edmont Dantes (diperankan oleh Jim Caviezel), seorang pemuda pelaut, tiba2 dijebloskan ke dalam penjara karena dituduh berkonspirasi dgn Napoleon (yg wkt itu sdh mjd tahanan politik di P. Elba) untuk mengadakan pemberontakan. Padahal ia baru saja dipromosikan mjd kapten kapal & akan segera menikahi tunangannya & sama sekali tidak bersalah. Kisah bahagianya tiba2 digantikan dgn kehidupan penjara yg gelap dan keras, dimana ia disiksa dan dikurung dlm sel batu gelap dan dingin di Chateau d’If. Mungkin dapat disejajarkan dgn Alcatraz zaman sekarang.

Saat masih di Sunday school, Yusuf adl salah satu tokoh favorit anak2. Dia terkenal sbg “Joseph, the king of dreams” alias si tukang mimpi. Setiap anak2 yg rajin ke SM pasti ingat ttg mimpi2nya, 11 berkas gandum yg menunduk pada berkas miliknya dan 11 bintang, matahari, dan bulan menyembah dirinya. Anak2 juga pasti ingat bagaimana dia dijual ke Mesir oleh abang2nya yg dengki, menjadi budak dan diperlakukan tidak adil, hingga akhirnya menafsirkan mimpi Firaun dan menjadi penguasa di Mesir. And that’s all.

Tapi saat berkesempatan untuk belajar lagi ttg Yusuf melalui BGA dan membaca buku Bill Crowder, aku menyadari betapa istimewanya pribadi yg satu ini. Kisah hidupnya layaknya plot ideal untuk cerita serial. Dia bs disejajarkan dgn Daniel yg terkenal krn keteguhan iman, kesetiaan dan integritas moralnya. Seseorang yg berhasil mengatasi berbagai tantangan dan ujian kehidupan dan akhirnya keluar sbg pemenang.

Philippians 4 : 13

“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” (NLT)

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (ESV)

Dari sekian banyak aspek yg dapat kita gali dari kehidupan Yusuf, hanya bbrp aspek saja yang akan dibagikan dalam kesempatan kali ini. Feel free to comment and add something here & there =) (itulah senangnya belajar bersama).

Kita dapat membagi kehidupan Yusuf dalam 5 bagian besar :

IN THE MORNING (Announce – Feel – Hide – Say)

(1) Announce it – “Wartakan” – symbol : Radio Alarm / Rooster (if u can provide a rooster who will make a sound as punctual as your desire haha)

- Announce words of worship to recognize God’s presence.

- Ul 4 : 39 – announce how great God is, how grateful we are for the love of God.

- Dilakukan saat masih di tempat tidur, 2-3 menit setelah buka mata.

- Why is it important? Because feeling follows action & will change your view.

(2) Feel it – “Rasakan” – symbol : Water dipper alias gayung (apa lagi sih English untuk gayung?)

- Feel God’s love – love that runs down like water from water dipper when we take a bath, like Jesus’ blood that washes us & gives us forgiveness for our sins (Mzm 31:22, 63:4).

- We should remember our value before God.

(3) Hide it – “Simpan” – symbol : The Bible

- Hide God’s words in your heart (Mzm 119:11).

- If time shortage is the reason for neglecting Bible reading, remember that “we’ll always give time for something important” – jd klo ga sempet terus baca Alkitab, jgn2 itu krn Alkitab ga begitu penting buat kita….

- Reading the Bible for depth, not distance.

- Mzm 119:105

(4) Say it – “Bicarakan” – symbol : Coffee cup

- Say it in prayer. Coffee cup symbolize conversation with other people. If we’re so fond of talking to other people, we should be more fond of talking with our Creator.

- Conversation with God will change our relationship with others.

- What makes a prayer important?

1] God loves to hear us. Imagine this : the Almighty Creator of the universe loves to talk with His creation (small, weak, and from dust) !!

2] God will answer our prayers according to His good will (Mat 7:9-11).

Konon, ‘If the morning is right, the whole day will be bright’. Well, ga precisely demikian sih, tapi morning yang diawali dengan worshipping God & surrendering ourselves into Thy hand pastilah akan memberi kita kekuatan untuk menjalani seharian yang mungkin padat, nyesek, panas, dan penuh tantangan – dengan cara yang lebih baik dibandingkan klo pagi hari kita diisi hal2 yang mumet.

“Get yourself in tune with God in the morning, before the orchestra of the day begins”
